Fiction & Poetry Journal of T. Wong

Petrifaction

Into the hollow wind
The voice in my heart does not shout
The pain and yearning quenched in time’s quicksand
Buried with that fierce flame of joy
That flickers with each sway of the tide
Petrified by increasing degrees
I know only this slow death
