Racing the sunset
A flock of pigeons fly home
Night rouses awake

At Sunset
Blue-ivy shadow
Cast by the elm tree at dusk
Silhouettes starve thin
Puzzle Pieces
I, who find the sunset beautiful
And you, who love the sunrise
Are two that were an almost perfect fit
Except that jagged edge of noncompliance
Which both intrigues and repels us
From one another
Cloudy Day
The sunset lightens the miasma
Of black-lined gray
And the drops that fall
Become rainbow jewels
Dahlia
On a cloud, I lie rain-side down
Looking over valleys and rivers
Concrete cities and waving fields
Where the dahlia blooms
A deeper red than the sunset
Upon the Branch
The wings of youth believe that they might fly forever
But time washes away the shore
And stirs the longing for a companion
And stirs the longing for home and nest
There is joy too, to roost upon the branch
And see the sunset sink to night, instead of chasing it
