She sits by the window
Picture frame in hand
The photo obscured by a glare of light
Into the rain she thinks soft thoughts
That swirl and drain
Through the streets
Tag: rain
Duel
The clouds gather overhead
To duel with the noon sun.
A clash, a skirmish
The fall of fox rain.
Snowfall
On branches of snow
A titmouse flits back and forth
A rain of powder
Cloudy Day
The sunset lightens the miasma
Of black-lined gray
And the drops that fall
Become rainbow jewels
Rain
A nebulous cloud
Hangs on the rim of the sky
Future rain threatens
Dowsing
The stone doesn’t yield
Don’t seek water where there’s none
Hope instead, for rain
Precipice
On the precipice she dances
Red umbrella in the rain
Sure that she would fly
If ever she were to fall
Rainy Day
The rain like a spangled veil
Bars the sky from earth
And the earth from sky
The sun plays shadows
And the clouds, shapeless dreams
Until both meet again
Drenching Rain
Umbrella-less pedestrians
Smile at each other in drenched pants and dresses
Beneath the pouring rain, strangers cluster
The tourist and the elite both under the Marriott
Students and elderly visitors in front of the Hospital
Others dance in the rain, slim bodies laughing
And the woman in the green skirt sits at the palazzo
In front of the fountain, she waits
A generous muse anticipating her artist
Spring Rain
The waves surge like herons from the marsh
And the gray clouds amass in mushroom sieges
The dry May gives way to cool water
And the humans flee in yellow ponchos
All talk stops, except for moist pitter-patter
