On the unbeaten path, the child treads her way
Through the stormy night and trees that sway
She knows a light shines atop the highest hill
And dreams she’ll dream, till she’s had her fill

Infatuation
If spring follows winter
Then your eyes are the height of summer
And your lips only promise song.
Even your barbs are tender and blunted.
In anger, I still find the vulnerable shaking
Of a compassionate, easily-bruised heart
Which I once wrapped myself in on a cold, lonesome night.
Vampire
A Nightmare roosts on the bed post
Its sickle-shaped wings folded in repose
Waiting for evening to draw its curtain
And the sleeper to lay her head
Eternity
A nightwalk on stars
Is the journey of a dream
Where I am at the start, middle, and end
All at the same time
Hibernation
Night which sinks ever more earlier
Lays its blanket of velvet down
Like a hush of snow
It stops and stifles thoughts
For ursine dreams
Moonlit Prayer
On a moonlit night, let me hang my promise
And on a gossamer thread attach hope
The world that turns
And the many days that fall into night
Is only waiting and anticipation
Mysterious Stranger
A woman walks veiled
Shimmering in candlelight
A tread on cats’ paws
Night In the Courtyard
White scent of jasmine
The moon glides over the reeds
A nightingale sings
Insomnia
Night rolls into morning rolls into night
Hunger comes only as a dull pang
As if still half-asleep
Unsure to enter or exit
Tiredness sits behind the eyes
Veiled in red spidery webs;
There isn’t an end, only waiting
Night Land
A sliver of moon
Illuminates the edges
Of a dream landscape
