A Nap Too Long

Laying my head down
Sweeps sleep into heavy weight
Eddies yank and pull

Nap

The breeze of night sighs
Over the heat of the mid-afternoon
And the softness of a comforter calls
For a gradual recline into that blank void
A strange sister to death
