oceans of thought
lie undiscovered
to a parched wanderer
Tag: journey
Upward
on a starlit path
she tread her way
up to where the heavens lay
with serene and unhurried gait
glad for the journey
and not for the wait
Feather
One drifting feather
Blown between pedestrians
On its own journey
Moved by camaraderie
I wish to walk alongside
Waiting to Cross
Patience abides on a sidewalk for a moment,
while redolent magnolia scents anticipate
another winding amble on summer-slicked avenues.
Anchor
The condensate of your kindness
Beads futilely upon me
For I have oiled the soft places
And hardened all the rest
Against the many dangers
I’ll walk my path alone
My regret, now a burden
The only anchor I have known.
Journey
I took
A leisurely stroll
Through the pages of a book
Paper Labor
On incarnadine sheets
He paints wishes and hopes
Black-faced characters
That curl and lope
Through a vast landscape
That stretches on and on
He fastens a paper steed to ride upon
For horizons of dreams
Horizons of songs
An artisan labors
Faithful and long
Unrelenting Dream
On the unbeaten path, the child treads her way
Through the stormy night and trees that sway
She knows a light shines atop the highest hill
And dreams she’ll dream, till she’s had her fill
Proposal
If I gave you a thimble, would you give me a needle?
And if I hummed you a tune, would you sing me a song?
On a summer day, in the shade of your presence
I bask in the coolness of your touch
And point our clasped hands toward the sky, to ask:
Now here is our road, would you journey with me forever?
Fear of the Unknown
The light dims behind
Ahead, a road and journey
A stumble, a shiver
