Tethered beneath
even water lilies
sky’s reflection

Gravity
The astronaut who once dreamed
Of milky galaxies spread
Like jewels on the velvet sheath of space
Now finds himself longing for
The green veld of his fathers
And a firm ground that pulls him
Into an embrace that says:
He is loved and too precious to be let go of.
Anchor
The condensate of your kindness
Beads futilely upon me
For I have oiled the soft places
And hardened all the rest
Against the many dangers
I’ll walk my path alone
My regret, now a burden
The only anchor I have known.
