Do, Don’t Only Say

“I worry about you”
is a meaningless sentiment
if the speaker does nothing
to help your circumstances
and adds their complaints
to your burden

  1. I agree, which is why I always try to offer a solution to someone who has chosen me to unload their burden. But in my endeavors to help, I’ve since learned, some people don’t want a ‘solution’ they just want to vent. So just listening, is also a form of helping. The trick is to know which is needed.

Feel free to email if you’d like an ear or feedback on what troubles you. Be well…

    1. That’s a good sense to have. Too often, I have offered solutions only to be told I don’t understand by a person only wanting to vent.

I used to like to vent too, but now, I don’t tend to as much. I think it comes with being older and seeing the strong people who once helped me need help. Sometimes, circumstances are what they are.

Thanks so much for your offer. I am really touched. You be well, too. ❤
