“I worry about you”
is a meaningless sentiment
if the speaker does nothing
to help your circumstances
and adds their complaints
to your burden

It’s sad how much I’m able to relate to this poem, simplicity and a powerful message, nicely penned 🙂
Thanks! I think it’s something we all want: actions, not just words. =)
Misery doesn’t always want company.
Yes! There’s venting and then there’s pulling each other down. =)
I agree, which is why I always try to offer a solution to someone who has chosen me to unload their burden. But in my endeavors to help, I’ve since learned, some people don’t want a ‘solution’ they just want to vent. So just listening, is also a form of helping. The trick is to know which is needed.
Feel free to email if you’d like an ear or feedback on what troubles you. Be well…
That’s a good sense to have. Too often, I have offered solutions only to be told I don’t understand by a person only wanting to vent.
I used to like to vent too, but now, I don’t tend to as much. I think it comes with being older and seeing the strong people who once helped me need help. Sometimes, circumstances are what they are.
Thanks so much for your offer. I am really touched. You be well, too. ❤
