To canopy or not. We often live away sometimes far from at least some of our people. “The privacy of a room”, whether our own or not, is not enough – we close our eyes to be with or away from them. Like “Cloistered”

I suppose that is both functional and private. =)
I heard that those canopied beds came about to stop things dropping onto people from rather uncertain ceilings and thatches…

Indeed! Some alone time is good for recharge.
Sometimes we long for something grander. And then to be cloistered in our grandeur, so no one can get too close. Good one.
