I refuse to believe
in the lack of even
the gentlest zephyr
or swelling tide of sea;
surely you fool me with
a calm ship
on an acrylic —
See!

You can’t fool me with your poetic sarcasm Red 😀
Darn. And I almost had you and your little dog too! =)
I like the poem, the thought and the whole tone, but might it be better if it didn’t start out with a double negative? “I refuse to believe in the lack of…” sounds wordy — but I’m not sure how you’d restate it.
Perhaps “I doubt”? Still a negative though. Thanks, will give it a ponder.
always wanted to sail and opportunity I passed but I am sure will come again one day.
Seize the day! Make it your mission this month. =)
