National Poetry Day on WordPress

Today is National Poetry Day and I thought I’d create a post to have poets get to know each other better.

There are so many great writers here on WordPress. They say writing is a lonely endeavor, but if you’d like to discover more people to read or have more people read your work, please leave a little introduction and link to your blog.

Let’s make this a party! =)

EDIT: Some commentators have forgotten to link to their writing blog in their comments. If you click on the name above the comment, that should bring you to at least one of their blogs.

    1. Ditto Grace’s comment. Thank you for visiting my blog, I am glad you did as it is how I found you (and this post!). I love what I have discovered here, your beautiful work. Thank you for inviting us to share as well, I hope many do the same πŸ™‚ Cheers!

  1. Great idea! So many blogs for me to check out, I love it πŸ™‚
As for me, I am Neha, I am a dreamer and write what comes to mind…I have a soft spot for nature and my poetry /photography usually reflects that -http://forgottenmeadows.wordpress.com/

  2. Somehow I missed the announcement — where did you learn about National Poetry Day? But at any rate I have two blogs devoted to poetry: http://swallowinthewind.wordpress.com and http://treetophaiku.wordpress.com
My haiku blog is at rest right now, though. I’ve been debating whether to start posting on it again, and dividing my poetry into haiku and non-haiku, or to just keep posting all poetry on one blog. Comments & advice are welcome.

  3. I love this — can’t wait to see who follows you! I write poetry about both nature and the whatever the emotion is stirring about in my life. I also write about family life with my sons–wading through parenthood and trying to make splashes of fun.

  4. Great, idea!

Hi, all! Happy Poetry Day! I’m pretty new to poetry and picked it up as a way help focus my creative writing and play with different perspectives. My poems are more like concise momentary musings; though lately, I’ve been in a rhyming phase. Please stop by and find verse, writing and more at: http://ettemeyer.wordpress.com/

  5. Cool idea! I write poetry, short stories, and occasional articles, all of which cover a myriad of topics. I’m also writing my first novel, the first chapter of which is available on my blog. Last but not least I have a bit of a crush on photography so many of the images I use are my own. Stop by anytime! http://carriepage.com/

  6. I write mostly poetry, but I also dabble in fiction & non-fiction. I like experimenting with a poetry so I write inspired by different schools and forms. For the most part, my motto is the “things that matter” so I will write any form of any content that I want to be able to express & hopefully connect with others.

Happy Poetry Day to fellow poets, writers and bloggers.

  7. Great way to celebrate. I write a variety of poetry styles (free verse, and varied traditional formats and verse patterns) and occasionally post an essay. Some is human condition related, issues of industrialized society, anxiety and depression, love poems, loss poems, lots of sad stuff. So enjoy that! πŸ™‚

  8. awesome its poetry day! i write a lot of really simple, concrete, minimal poems about stuff that pops into my head during the day. i also post lyrics to some songs that i have written.

  9. Yes! Happy poetry day everyone. I’m Maureen and I love poetry in all its shapes and forms – but leaning to the briefer expressions. Plus I love photography.

  10. Ohhh, what a wonderful party! And I’ve suddenly gone all uncharacteristically shy–I’m “Ponder” (some people know me as Caddo). I write various forms–but love Jorio and Tanka, and haiku, as well as longer, and more classic forms…. I’ll be back later to have another sample! http://paradisewaits.wordpress.com

  11. Happy to meet everyone here! Poetry for me is a restoration of uncrookedness. It involves much persistence, failure, and faith but I have yet to meet anything as satiating.

  12. Writings is the most powerful thing in the world and if we combine each other’s thoughts, it would be insane! I enjoy writing poetry, not exactly haikus, and some pieces that evoke thought.

  13. By now you’re probably tired of the ‘great idea’ comments – but it really was. Thanks for all the introductions to poets I wouldn’t have found without your help.

  14. I write poetry, short stories, just random paragraphs πŸ™‚ I also sketch and enjoy traveling. My blog is Prose Over Bros (www.proseoverbros.wordpress.com). I’m eighteen and still discovering my place in the world πŸ™‚ any form of input and critique is welcome.
