Great poem–that last line is a kicker. (Carnations are my fave too–I got some for my b’day.)
Thanks! Happy (late) birthday. ❤
I adore this.
Glad you do!
Wow I’m in awe
Thank you~
I would have guessed Gladiolus. 🙂
Indeed! Am I cheat if I have more than one favorite flower? *winks*
hmmm…I’ve never cared for carnations. But, now I’ll give them a second look!
I visit some of my elderly relatives in a home with carnations. I know they’ll last at least a week (sometimes two) and that they will be a fresh reminder that they have family and are loved before the next visit.
Yes, please do reconsider carnations. =)
Carnations are great flowers for the elderly in care facilities. Nice that you mention this, thank~you 🙂

Your poetic artistry continues to amaze me! The word “convalescent” was a slight put-off but it’s growing on me!

I’m glad that troublesome word didn’t ruin the poem for you, but I thought it was kinder than “patient” or “invalid.” Ah, word choice is so hard! And thank you so much. ❤
Why the pic is Azalea?
Whoops! I used the wrong link. Thank you.
You are welcome, I was looking forward to see carnation picture. 🙂
I like tulips 🙂
Those are very nice too!
Ah, you are so right. Carnations do last a long long time and they have a beautiful fragrance.
Somehow they have had to take a backseat to roses…but beauty always wins…no matter how fragile….
I think carnations have their beauty too, however. And I would not find cherry blossoms uglier if they bloomed more than a week. =)
I loved this post. If they care enough to give you flowers, they should know which one is your favorite. Thanks for sharing with us.
Thanks for reading! Always glad to know when the sharing is appreciated. ❤
