Two Odes to Bear Mountain

Three horizons:
two hills in front as I know them
and another one behind.

Where it touches the sky,
a third range of blue shadow:
the train of night
not quite fallen away.

From the highest
point, not even a bird.
The silence pristine
and I, another boulder or tree.

  1. Hi. Your poetry has an elegance, a subtlety and confidence I really like, Look forward to reading more…

  2. Exquisite! Your maturity of style and easy phrasing sets you comfortably above the clamoring herd. How glad I am to be following your blog!

    1. The feeling’s mutual. But it’s not too hard to be part of the herd, when I can easily lean over and have a conversation with another poet like you. Thanks!
