I still have to do the dishes on my birthday

Another year older
To age and grow bolder
To find acceptance and poise
To embrace quiet and noise
To still work on loving myself
With a little generous help
From writers and readers like you
Thanks, and have a great day, too!

Writer Notes: It’s my party and I’ll cry be schmoopy if I want to. Thanks for making this a great year. =)

  1. Of course it is…why am I even asking. Happy Birthday! May you have a wonderful year ahead where all your wishes come true. 🙂

      1. Hahaha, nice title though, it’s the bitter truth of birthday parties. 😛
        Love the poem. ❤

  2. Is today your birthday, my poetic friend? Mine as well! I am 41 today. Happy to be alive, but bewildered to be this age that I am. I feel the fleeting though that my time here is limited. Gotta make it count! Much joy to you on this our special day!

      1. Mine is the 14th, and we shall keep the exact number quiet so to speak :))) I love blogdom land. I meet so many lovely poets. Wow you are gifted. I love your writing. It’s beyond words even. Thank you!

  3. ‘Youth is happy because it has the ability to see beauty. Anyone who keeps the ability to see beauty never grows old.’ – Franz Kafka

I wish you a very happy birthday, and to keep the ability to see (and write) beauty for many years to come.

  4. Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!! To you as well Beth. Mine’s approaching in 2 short days from now (the first one without my mother – so my post will be a bit bleak). K, got off subject *giggles*. I genuinely believe that each and every one of us should treat our birthdays as a personal holiday and day off. We may be getting older, but there is still a child that lives within us all that would revel in a day of pure celebration meant just for us – which does not include work, errands or chores of any kind. ❤

Wishing you the happiest of birthdays!!!! Enjoy your very special day.

  5. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY NEW FRIEND! And to everyone else! My birthday is tomorrow (22 July) — I’ll be 73. Never intended to get this old…it just happened! 🙂 — Ron —

  6. A belated warm birthday greeting to you ~
    …..
Hey, you can do the dishes on MY b’day, too. Will you cook dinner, too? ha haa! 🙂
