To My Fellow Poets on WordPress

Sometimes, I wish I were another writer
That I could tease with scintillation
Warm bodies, odors, and tastes with grand fruition
Could move using music and frame colored mirages
Use a more daring line break
Than these stable horizontals

But for now, this is my poetry
This is me

Finding it hard to articulate with a minimal palette
I thank you for showing me new boundaries;
Some glorious osmosis is bound to happen!

  1. Listen to the music in your heart, watch the flow of each day as it passes, each person, leaf and other thing, including the clouds in the sky. Poetry will come, is coming, will continue. Just keep moving forward, 🙂

  2. Your poetry is beautiful – like the poet. Poetry is like a window into a person’s mind – and minds evolve. What you write now may not be what you write later, but it is all you. Evolution takes time – it is a pleasure to peep into the window, but remember – we the peepers like to peep in on the poet and, in this case, the poet is you:)

  3. some breaks are subtle – and needed
some colors are earthen – and heeded
some odors we nearly miss – yet we sway
your words are yours and are here to stay !

    🙂

  4. A feel the same. In constant awe of all these creative geniuses . . . and you are one of them.

  5. You write from your truth and that is the true heart of a poem. Others might have different voices but they are no more beautiful than yours.

    1. You know, I honestly believe that. Even if it doesn’t come out the right way, if you’re honest and work to tell something from the heart, then you can’t regret it. =)

  6. You nailed it. I have sublime poems flowing through my feed, and I wish I had their skill. Yours included! I like words4jp’s advice. There are stained-glass cathedral windows, mansions’ bay windows, lighthouse panes, reflective skyscraper windows, outhouse windows (what I feel like sometimes), so many more. But each is a window. When you look through each, you see a different vista, but you SEE, I like your view. Keep going! Keep the window open to give the fresh air only you can.

  7. You write beautifully — I personally feel like I’m in the “fetal” stage when reading the words of all the many talented writers I come across on WP – you being one of them, it’s quite humbling.

    1. I feel the same actually. The good thing about writing is you’re never done, you’ve got the rest of your life to master it and grow. There isn’t some strict deadline. ❤

  8. I love the last line, some glorious osmosis is bound to happen. we used to do an experiment at school and so I have literally seen the process and know how beautiful it looks.

  9. so well articulated and profound in its simplicity…makes me feel the need to go back to the drawing board…thanks.

  10. I’m new to this medium, but I absolutely love the interactivity of it. Everybody feels trapped by their style every once in a while. I often dream of being someone different, but I know that it’s not worth actually doing. There are plenty of other people, so you and I might as well stay us. 🙂

  11. I love this and I know the feeling of wishing I could do what other people do but, that being said, I’m pretty new to writing poetry and what I love most is that my poetry can only be my poetry and in writing it I can only be me, whether I want to be me in that moment or not. Personally I think it brings me to a better acceptance of who I am, and who other people are.

    1. That’s a deep and wonderful way of looking at things! I’ve found supportive readers and writers since I’ve started my blog and that also helps in accepting myself as who I am. =)

  12. From one poet to another; words are like clothes, the letters are the fasteners, the images, the blood that flows… keep on the great work! 🙂

  13. There are as many types of poetry as their are writers. Write what’s inside you, write your own truth. That’s what counts! I liked your peom. 🙂

  14. As a writer what more then? No as an artist it would detrimental to change and be another because we’d have less, indulge the worlds senses and Yours with You and Your workds, that is why perfection is flawed and flaws are not flaws but nuances and accessories

  15. IMO, never wish to be another writer. Just work hard to be a better writer–someone you are comfortable with, somebody you’re proud of. thanks again.

  16. Thanks so much for your follow of Heart of LIfe Poetry, I really appreciate it. I’m with the commenters above who encourage you to stick true to your own voice, your own heart, and your own path. The only originality any of us can create is our own! ; )
