Those birds that chirrup a sweet song
Perhaps they were born with gifts
But the Mockingbird learns tune by tune
Listening to the beauty of others
Note by note he copies and twists
Until his hard work yields a repertoire
As brilliant as the colors of autumn
Mockingbirds are among my favorites. They can mimic other’s songs so perfectly, and it is so fun to listen as one works a song into their own celebration.
I agree! Thanks for reading and thank you for the reblog. =)

A beautiful short piece by redgladiola. Mockingbirds are among my favorites. You have to hear one work out a song to truly understand their magic.
